Florals

My floral textural pieces started by me wanting to give a close friend a present of flowers that will never die. I wanted to capture how receiving a bunch of flowers makes you feel: the joy and happiness of a special present. I have tried to communicate the vibrant colours, delicate aromas, and bursts of joy; which is an ultimately a fleeting feeling - much like the flowers themselves. I create an image which reflects the essence of the blooming flowers experimenting with colours and textures to give depth and vibrancy as the layers interact with each other. Finally, I add the gold leaf.
